Wellmedic opens a medical center in Vasa – "We want to be a local presence that is close to our customers in every way"

The healthcare company Wellmedic is opening a new medical center in Vaasa. This company, registered in Korsholm, already has locations in Smedsby, Oravais, Vörå, and Karis.

“For us, Vaasa is a natural step. We already have many customers in the city whom we can now serve even better,” says Marta Backlund, CEO of Wellmedic.

Local connections are seen as very important for Wellmedic, which since its foundation in 2020 has prioritized being close to its customers.

Opening in October
The new medical center in Vaasa opens on October 2. From the start, it will offer general medical services, testing, and occupational health care. On-site, both nurses and doctors will be available.

“We work systematically, multi-disciplinary, and with patient safety in mind,” says Marta Backlund.

The new center also provides assistance from various specialists, such as physiotherapists and psychologists.

1300 square meters right in the center
Wellmedic's new medical center opens at Town Hall Street 13. Nurse Carina Smedman, who handles a lot of the administration for Wellmedic, was among the first to move into the new premises. Carina Smedman is very pleased and describes it as central, bright, and nice.

Wellmedic has over 1300 square meters available on the second floor of the building. Due to previous tenants, the premises are largely suitable for the operation of a medical center.

“This allows us to focus on new recruitments, purchasing equipment, and minor surface renovations,” says Marta Backlund.

Starting with occupational health care
In Ostrobothnia, Wellmedic is particularly strong in corporate clients. On the corporate side, there is already a customer base, and it's from this need that the operation in Vaasa is being launched to then expand.

On October 27 at 2:00 PM, Wellmedic will host an open day where all employers are welcome to familiarize themselves with the operations and the new premises. The theme of the open day is mental well-being in the workplace.

Private individuals also a key group
All Wellmedic's medical centers are also open to private individuals. Especially in Karis, private individuals make up a large part of the customers. The new unit in Vaasa is a strategic investment to increase private consultations also in Ostrobothnia.

Private individuals are warmly welcome from the opening day on October 2 to the new medical center. In February, once the operation is settled, an official opening day for the public will also be organized.

X-ray and day surgery next
The premises Wellmedic is moving into offer many new possibilities. Day surgery is currently being developed, and investments to enable this initiative are being planned. Wellmedic also has extensive plans to develop radiological services. Two X-ray rooms are ready, and requests for quotes for X-ray equipment have been made.

A small innovation hub for professionals in the healthcare sector will also be created at the new medical center. Many independent professionals are already connected to Wellmedic's operations. The new hub will be a place where they can interact and also have their own space for carrying out tasks like administrative work.
